Bloomin' Lovely

The Just us Girls challenge is a colour challenge this week. I just love all of the featured cushions in the inspiration pic, so I borrowed one of the designs for my card inspiration.

Love that cushion in the middle.
I used Pink Pirouette, Night of Navy and instead of the beigey colour I substituted Very Vanilla

I have just come across an other challenge blog called
their challenge is

Pink /Lilac and / or Butterflies

so I have entered that challenge also!

This is the card I made for my friends birthday, she is worried about getting old???
I told her "it's better than the alternative"
(ie NOT having Birthdays...)

Anyway I hope she likes it and I hope you like it too!

Thanks for stopping by,
Be kind to each other

Happy Birthday Dedo!

My Boss's father in law turns 80 this week and she asked me to make her a card.  Had to put ribbon on it just so I could enter the JuGS Challenge!

I cased this off Pinterest but I can't find the original creator (so sorry)

It's Just Us Girls, Adding Ink for Blokes...

Phew! what a week and it's only Tuesday... my cupboards arrived on Saturday {YAY} so MOST of my weekend was spent loading and organising my ever expanding craft stash into and onto my gorgeous cupboards.  I really need to downsize my stash (maybe I could make some cards??!!)   ;)

Anyway I DID use up a little bit with my "blokey card" for

I combined it with the

Graphic

I know, making one card for two challenges doesn't use up twice as much stash... but give me a break! Ive been busy organising and repacking PLUS I have been playing nurse for the last two days.  Here is my card for my wonderful Husband who picked up my cupboards and helped me put them in my Stampin' Studio!

Gorgeous grunge makes an AWESOME galaxy! Don't you think?

A little birdie told me...

Well, after just now typing in the post heading, I have got the best idea for the sentiment to go on my card.  I have a MFT stamp set with "a little birdie told me" so I'm going to find it and stamp it on. (maybe)  Anyway, JUGS #158. Technique challenge emboss resist. Love it! AND I didn't miss the linky!

Again, Betsy's Blossoms, sure am getting my moneys worth from this set, let me tell you! and to think I wasn't even going to get this one. When I saw it the first time in the catalogue i though, "Oh my, that's NOT the best looking set".  How wrong was I!!?? I'm lovin it!

I did up my schedule of Challenge cut offs and I discovered I have a challenge for every day of the week!  Don't think that I will complete EVERY challenge EVERY week though, but let's give it a try...

Jugs 157

This weeks JUGs 157 sketch challenge designed by Andrea Matthews

I decided to go Christmassy for this one. Love this sketch it's so versatile.
Although, I think it could do with a few more layers!

I think my new favourite colour could well be Primrose Petals...

T 4 2

This Weeks Just Us Girls Challenge #156 is (apart from posting before the linky closes *o* ) is to include numbers on your card.
My only thoughts were,
 "Tea for two".
On my card, the die cut numbers (& letter) are coated in Crystal Accents to make them glossy, I had thought about making the cups glossy too, but then decided against it...
I'm loving the pink and grey scheme -
it looks black in the photo but it is grey.

Spool Time!

For Every $60 (not including shipping) you spend on Stampin' Up! products you get one free spool (9.1m) of stitched satin ribbon in your choice of five colours!

What are you waiting for?

Get pen and paper handy, Click on the Catalogue link
(on the right hand side of the page ->),
write out your wish list and email me with your order!
When you receive order you will also get
a complimentary hard copy of the

BEST BOOK IN TOWN !

(IE Stampin' Up! catalogue). It's that good, one of my friends took it away on holidays with her. Sunning it up on the Gold Coast by the pool with her catalogue! Now THAT'S class!

Sunshine, Lollypops and Rainbows

Well here is the Just Us Girls Challenge for this week

This weeks JUGS challenge is RAINBOWS!  I usually just stick to two or three colours - including the neutral, so I thought this would be a little difficult...  That was until I started thinking about this cake I had made for Natalie's 7th birthday, it was a SEVEN layer rainbow cake - ALL SEVEN COLOURS!  I looked up the Jugs site and couldn't find anything that said I needed to submit a card (as opposed to a cake!) so I thought I would be cheeky...

Ta Daah! Seven Layer Rainbow cake...

Just a "simple(?)" vanilla sponge with LOTS of colour! And Heaps of Betty Crocker's ready made Vanilla frosting!

Oh, and I also made a card for the challenge    ;)

I had lots of different ideas for the feature (apart from the rainbow) images, sentiments and the like but none were Stampin 'up! (Oh no - I hear you say...). I think I may just make that card another day...

Until next time, keep stampin'  Marls xx

JUGS, Mojo & Bags...

I decided to combine my JUGS with my MOJO this week. Just Us Girls Challenge #153 was using a "line stamp"  and Monday Mojo 258 was a great sketch by Julee Tillman.

This birthday card is for one of the ladies at School, well actually Claire's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs Lloyd. Claire is now in year two...

Outside.

As this card is another "give away" there is an inside as well.

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! I'm so excited at the moment! I have found the ULTIMATE use for all (or some) of my brown packaging paper that I get with my Stampin' Up! orders. Ready??? Mini brown shopping bags, yes MINI BROWN SHOPPING BAGS.

They don't look mini in the photo so I added the I-Tunes card (thanks K) so you could see how tiny they are! They would be perfect for lolly bags or for little samples and/or gift cards!  I cut them out (about 8 at a time) with the "Fancy Favour Die" I then twisted the side bits (from the off-cuts) after trimming for the handles in one and folded for the other. I think the folded handles look better.  If you use paper other than the brown packaging I would suggest NOT doing 8 at a time!  You could even have them with no handles for a mini lunch bag look - they fold flat nicely for later use!

PS, I will have some very exciting news to share in the coming weeks...

Card for Baby...

Claire's teacher is having her first baby in October (She won't know what hit her!) and this is her last week before she is off for maternity leave. Of course any excuse is a good excuse when it comes to card making so I thought I'd share my Just Us Girls #152 with you.

Here's the sketch by Maria

My baby JUGS

and because it has purpose - IE I'm giving it away, there is an inside also.

The little bear on top is a "finishing touch" from my Claire (bear).  Keep stampin' Marls xx

Just Inspirational

This weeks Just Us Girls Challenge was a Photo Inspiration Challenge. This is a gorgeous photo but left me wondering, "Who sleeps in their kitchen?" !  This is such a subtle and pretty room and obviously multi-purpose!  This room kinda reminds me of my "up line" Louise Sharp - Pink and dotty (in a GOOD way)!   I am always in awe of her creations and she is also part of the inspiration for my card below.

I like the white of the room and used the subtle colours seen above as an "unfeatured" feature. I am particularly impressed with the white-on-white wood grain embossing, it reminds me of the storage space and the chairs in the room - I may use that again in the future!

Hope you like it, I'm quite impressed with it.  Now after all this Girly stuff I need to make Father's Day Cards!!  Wish me luck.  Keep Stampin' Marls xx

Missed it by "that much"!

Well Thanks to Pentaq I'm now able to connect to the world wide web! Unfortunately I missed out on this weeks JUGS challenge, but I'll show you anyway.  The challenge colour this week - I find colour challenges a bit "challenging" sometimes (really?) I just can't get the colours to work the way I want them too but I think I nailed it with my Betsy Blossom bird...

I made this one to give away to a co-worker who is having her birthday today!

Well, there's only a few more hours until JUGS post the next challenge so I will wait with eager anticipation!  Keep stampin'  - even if you know you can't upload it in time!  ;)  Marls xx

Clowning Around

Well, I must say I'm feeling a little sorry for myself this week - I have a cold, and am feeling miserable :(  I'm not even excited about the pre-order (Stampin' Up Holiday Catalogue) because the stamp sets I want are not on the Sneak Peek List :{  Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for Spring (in Australia!) Yay, September 1st!

My mojo has left me dry (at the moment) so I thought I'd join the JUGS and use up some of my ribbon scraps.  I have a big jar of ribbon scraps and as most of the stampin up ribbons are now retired too this project did not even put a dent in it!

So here is the challenge  Just Us Girls #149

And my "cute" card ~ yes, I did make it for myself!

Keep well! (unlike myself) and keep stampin'  Marls xx
