Melon Mambo Mojo

Well, no it's not the Poppy Parade Butterfly I was going to do from JUGS, it's Monday Mojo 252. I was sooooo loking forward to this sketch because I can FINALLY do ROUND yay! Thanks to my BigShot and Scallop Circle Die I can do round - it's only small but it's ROUND (can you tell how excited I am?).

Here is the sketch ...

and my ROUND card!

( L.S. - Still waiting for that photography lesson...)

Well as it took longer to upload the photo/s and update the blog than it did to make the card, I think it be time to head off to slumberland so I can function tomorrow! (It's only 12:08am AEST but thats 3 nights in a row)  Yawn, keep stampin'  Marls xx

One for the Girls

This week's card was inspired by "Just Us Girls ~ Photo Inspiration Challenge 147" and my sister-in-law! The idea is to get inspired by the photograph (it's just beautiful) and then create your masterpiece. Well, I thought A flower and A butterfly but SIL suggested a bunch of flowers. Took a bit longer but well worth the effort!  So I have a bunch of Baja Breeze and Wisteria Wonder Hydrangeas and some Rose Red Emboss-lit Butterfly's.

 My card

My photo does not do the card much justice, I think I need some editing tips from a "proper" photographer!  the flowers are lifted of the page by dimensionals one under first layer and two high under second layer. Also there are little individual flowers (the ones with the pearls) on there also.

After looking at the photo again and then scrolling through the JUGS design team cards I had another idea that I may just post later in the week.

Keep craftin' - but I'm going to bed! Till next time Happy Stampin'  Marls xx

Tuesday 17 July 2012

Hello, inspiration, where are you?

Last week I made this bag and matching "pouch" with my Designer Flirtatious Fabric from Stampin' Up!  I made this especially for my simply scored as it is an awkward size and I just didn't have a pretty bag that it would fit into ;)  The little pouch will be (like a pencil case) for my "all the time tools".

Well as my title suggests, my inspiration has taken a vacation. You know when you "see" an end result in your head and then it turns out to be totally different? Well, that has been what the last few days have been like for me - in all aspects!  My Mojo Monday didn't turn out how I thought it would, so I went and did a Paper Players challenge.  Anyway after both cards I decided that I need to give Crumb Cake a rest for a week or two and go with something brighter and more "cheery" like the "brights" collection.

This is the sketch for Mojo Monday 250

Here's my Mojo

As I mentioned above I have done a Paper Players challenge too.

My creation... Only Crumb Cake and Versamark ink (plus some glue and Stampin Glass Glitter).

I used the adorning accents edgelit die to make the banner, I scored the bit that folds under to raise the main part then glued and glittered the out side edge then when I looked at it I realised that I had done the wrong side! I stamped this side originally (before scoring and glue/glitter) and thought that it looked crooked so I re inked and heat embossed the other side but did not realise that I was finishing off on the wrong side...  grrrrrr

Until next time, keep stampin' Marls xx

Monday Mojo 249 "double shot"

Well I really like the Wisteria Wonder/Lucky Limeade colour combo but when I tried it it just looked... meh. So because I don't need sleep (?) I made two mojos (again) here's the sketch by Carole Burrage Monday Mojo 249 =>

The Lucky/Wonder combo

Calypso Pool Party!

I just love these flowers (yes, I like making ALL paper flowers) inspired by Stampin' T (Tanya Bell). Did you notice I made my own mini version on the bottom?  Till next time, keep stampin' and as the card says, "kindness matters".  xx Marls

Ok so I was not overly impressed with my first card, don't get me wrong I liked it but I just thought I could do better, that said, I got this lovely Penny Black stamp from my SIL so I decided to make her a card with it hope she doesn't check my blog before she picks up my kids tomorrow! Again, the sketch

My Mojo 248

Here is my Mojo 248 card. This weeks card was inspired by some lovely ladies I met very recently but feel like I've known for a long time (oh, the wonderful world of Blog Hopping)!  The colours Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake were inspired by Narelle Macey who was inspired to make a Christmas Themed card inspired by Barbara Williams who was inspired by - it's all very compex! Anyway, here is the Sketch

And here is my card...

Products used - Crumb Cake cardstock, Rich Razzleberry cardstock, DS Pattern Stack Brights, Basics Pearls, Crumbcake Seam Binding Ribbon (love this stuff!), Linen Thread and Stampin Up's EXCLUSIVE (lol) brown packing paper  - for the flower!

I unfortunately also had reason to make a Sympathy Card so I'll show you that as well.  I like this card - I'm quite chuffed by it. Even though Sympathy cards are not something we like to make I think it is nice that the recipient gets a unique gift and the knowledge that you have been thinking about them and care enough to make the effort to create something especially for them.

I just love these flowers and they are so easy (my 7 year old makes these) and versatile!  Just change the colour and you have a frangipani, a tiger lily or any number of colourful blooms!

for tutorials of the lily flowers just click here http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com.au/2010/06/punched-paper-lily.html
I am going to (try to) do more challenges, under the advice of Teneale Williams so I may post more often - or I may not - at the moment it is school holidays so I may even post some cards that my gorgeous girls make.

Until next time - Keep Stampin'  Marls  xx
